The Royal County of Berkshire Army Cadet Force (ACF) is part of a national youth organisation aimed at inspiring young people to achieve both physically and mentally whilst developing self-confidence, teamwork and leadership. They are home to over 414 young cadets and 136 adult volunteers in 18 detachments.

The benefits of volunteering with us are varied, from learning new skills, meeting people, taking on challenges and gaining valuable experience. You do not need a military background and we provide any training required. There is no such thing as an ideal candidate; Our current leaders come from a broad range of backgrounds and life experiences.

You will have a chance to try out all the activities on offer to cadets and may choose to specialise in a particular area. Much of our training in specialist subjects can even lead to fully-accredited qualifications through organisations like St John Ambulance, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, National Rifle Association etc. A DBS check may be required for adult volunteers. Get in touch with us to discover your potential!
